And we're back!

Welcome Back!

After a summer full of change ASWOU is finally moved into our new office space, located on the lower level of the Werner University Center, and is busy getting back to work for students! There are a lot of exciting new things going on this year within ASWOU, and around the campus in general!

First things first, welcome to the class of 2015, and to all new students who transferred to Western Oregon University this fall. We are so pleased to have you here, and we can't wait to work with you to make great change on our campus!

To all returning students, its good to see you again! Lets make it another great year!

This year ASWOU will be launching several new ways for you to keep up with campus politics, as well as fun events, and day to day activities.  If you picked up The Journal today you may have noticed a piece written by ASWOU President Jonathan Farmer.  This column will appear twice a month to keep you up to date on all things ASWOU, so be sure to pick up the paper when it comes out!

Also planned for this year is a brand new ASWOU radio show on our campus station KWOU (http://wou.edu/student/kwou/). The show has not been launched yet, but we will let you know as soon as it goes on air!

We look forward to working with all of you throughout the year! Stop by the offices whenever you want, and don't ever hesitate to come on in!

Here comes the sun!

It is finally finals week, and the sun is actually shining! People are off taking those final exams, packing their things, and saying goodbye.  ASWOU is busy packing the office getting ready for the big move! Next year we will be located on the ground level of the Werner University Center, where Student Media and the Willamette Room used to be.  We love having visitors, so don't hesitate to stop by whenever you feel like it!

Congratulations to all the graduates, go out and do great things in this world! To everyone else, have a great summer, and we will see you again in the fall!

May 4, 2011

Yesterday was a day full of change for Western Oregon University.  In a well attended unveiling ceremony including the musical talents of Westerns Pep Band, performances by both the Cheer Squad and the Dance Team, our new marks were shown off for all to see.  For the first time WOU has both an athletic logo, and an academic mark.  Shortly after the ceremony the book store opened its doors and started selling brand new merchandise featuring the new logos.

It is exciting to see positive change on our campus, and these new marks are only the beginning.  Fall will mark the completion of the Werner University Center re-model, creating new space for students to use and enjoy.  Student enrollment continues to climb, which means more change for our campus.  We at ASWOU cannot wait to see where all this change will take us!
